You can get fuses that don’t need to be replaced. They come with a reset button. When the fuse shorts, you just reset it. But I recently had my whole electrical panel replaced to switches so fuses are a thing of the past for me.
I didn’t know they were out there. I’ll have to stop by Home Depot and pick some up. Thanks.
dear josh: i worked for a utility co for 43 years. fuses are much safer than breakers. when a fuse is defective, it may blow too soon. when a breaker is defective, it may stick closed, or not blow at all. on average, fuses protect better than breakers, even tho not as convenient!!
