Movies Seen

This is a list of movies I've seen since January 1, 2001. Each movie has been rated using a scale of zero to five wombat paws in which zero paws is a complete waste of time that I will never get back, and five paws is a classic that is deserving of many repeat viewings.

If I see a movie multiple times, I rate each viewing independently. I will sometimes revise a rating a few days after I've seen a movie because it's true impact takes some time to settle in.

Helvetica (2007)
Before I saw this movie, Helvetica was just a font that was out there. Now, I know it's a typeface. The documentary did a very good job at taking a subject I would never think about, and showing how interesting it can be. Interestingly, I watched this a few days after deciding, independantly, that Helvetica would be the font for a major renovation of joshmadison.com (except for Windows users who will mostly see Arial).

Like a giant episode on TV, but since there was a lot of extra time, they were able to put in a lot of short but funny jokes. They did a good job incorporating almost all of the characters, even if they had just a momentary scene. If there was a slow part of the movie, it was when they really focused on the plot.
