Even though I’m sick, I had my best evening of Wii Sports bowling ever, and I hit three special milestones with the first game of the night.
First milestone achieved was that I got my first turkey. A turkey is three strikes in a row. Frames four, five, and six. Woohoo!
Second milestone achieved was that I bowled my first game over 200. 204 to be exact. Previous high was 174. Woohoo!!!
Third milestone achieved was that I made Pro. That 204 was good enough to push my bowling rating above 1000, and I got a new ball because of it. WOOHOO!!!
I bowled two other games tonight, and got 194 and 183, both well above my previous high of 174 that had stood for about 20 games.
I wonder if this cold and all the medication helped focus me?

After enduring the confusement that occurred when trying to order a Wii from Kmart, I was finally able to get one without too much effort.
In a nutshell, after finding myself awake at 8am this morning, I noticed that Toys “R” Us was advertising Wiis in their Sunday circulars, which means that they should have some in stock. I promptly got myself dressed and headed over to the Toys “R” Us store in Times Square.
I had to stand on line for about an hour and a half, but I got a Wii. After getting home and hooking it up, I immediately played a game of bowling and got a 139.
Amazon.com has suspended pre-orders for Halo 3 Legendary Edition. The amazing thing is that I think it went on sale just two days ago, and at a price of $130, it’s more than twice the cost of the plain video game (but you get a little helmet you can put on your desk).
I’d like to get a Wii, but I’m just not willing to buy a whole bundle for $500+ and get four games, three of which I’m not interested in. I’m also not interested in waiting on line at the Nintendo store before 7am hoping to get one of the 12 or so that they might sell that day. I’m fine waiting for the day that I can walk into any Best Buy or Circuit City and just buy the base $250 unit, and the one additional game I might be interested in.
I’ve added a Wii tracker to my RSS reader in case someone has the base unit for sale online. This morning, I found out that Kmart has just that. Over my morning cup of coffee, I went to the Kmart site, and attempted to order the Wii.
When I added it to my cart, I was greeted by a message that, especially with my slow-morning-brain, I found quite perplexing.
So how exactly does one go about and order one from Kmart? They have them in stock, but have a limit of 0 per order. Oh well. Guess it’s not meant to be at this time.

I picked up Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion for the 360 the other day and have been having fun working both the main quest, and a few side quests since then. So far, it’s been a fun, enjoyable game. One of the things that I like about it is how “immersive” it is. The graphics are well done, the music is a good compliment to what’s happening, the characters don’t have too many repeating voices or phrases, and each town seems to have it’s own architectural style. In fact, the one glaring problem that I have seen with the game is that no one seems to go to the bathroom, or at least, in a bathroom. I have been all over the place and have not found one bathroom! (sort of like a season of “24")
Anyway, I have encountered two “issues”, and one “bug” that have taken me “out of the experience” a few times. The first is that while battling a ghost on a ship, the ghost was smart enough to hide behind a wall, but there was a clipping issue, and it’s arm was coming through the wall. Minor. Another issue was that while standing under a stable’s roof while it was raining outside, the rain came down through the roof. Again, minor.
