Police in Switzerland release a photo of a suspected bank robber in hopes that members of the public can help identify him. A TV station shows the picture, but in keeping with their privacy policy, blur his face to protect his identity.

But the Swiss TV and Radio Association backed the station’s decision, saying: “With regards to the current privacy laws we do not make public images of people needed for identification purposes unless there is an immediate risk.”

A furious Buttet blasted back: “If a masked gunman is not a danger to the public, then I don’t know what is. What they did was stupid and they just don’t want to admit it.”

That’s just silly.
