This week I noticed that the UNICEF snowflake was put up at 57th and 5th. While that was going on, the Bloomberg Tower also erected their Christmas holiday tree. There oughta be a law that holiday decorations can’t go up until after Thanksgiving.
I’m not trying to be bitter or anything, I just think that if we don’t reign it in, we’ll start seeing holiday decorations in August.
With one of these, I could get to work in about five minutes, which would translate into about another 20 minutes of sleep.
I went out for a few minutes today to go get some pizza. I saw down the street that the Christmas tree’s were on sale. That, combined with the Salvation Army ringing bells outside Bloomingdale’s and the snowflake hung at 57th & 5th, means that the holiday season is officially here.
It also means that, like the swallows at Capistrano, the tourists are coming.
If anyone is looking for something to get me for Xmas, here’s a hint at something I might like.
Maybe this year I’ll get a Christmas Tree.
